| From a World Englishes perspective, I investigate ways to expose learners to diverse English accents to foster more positive attitudes toward NNS pronunciation. I also develop pronunciation‑based listening instruction that targets phonemes and allophonic variations absent in the Japanese phonological system, which often hinder learners’ comprehension of words and spoken messages. |
