| (1) The Special Seminar has emphasizes advanced communication skills. I am now working with seminar students to find, develop, and adapt appropriate materials and activities related to topics—such as real listening, self-disclosure, and nonverbal communication—leading toward an undergraduate thesis.I am developing report-writing materials and activities to support this. (2) I continue to use specialized transcription software and camcorders in OCS and communication skills classes to help research individual factors in student engagement and provide insights for teacher development. I am currently focusing on the development of students interactional competence in collaborative dialogues and the development of skills in 3 the communicative modes (vocal, nonvocal, and material). |
