現代国際学特殊講義B 2015年度2期



世界の英語を聞き、世界の事情を学ぶことが目的である。日本にある各大使館または政府官公庁を中心に、英語を話せて、各国の最新事情を話せることのできる人を講師として招き、英語を通じて、できるだけ多くの国について学ぶことを目的とする。体験型オムニバス形式の授業(選択科目2単位)です。

「Colombia´s Biodiversity: Features and Challenges」

This talk aims at widening the knowledge of Colombia and braking with commonly held stereotypes by presenting the biodiversity dimension of Colombia. In particular it summarizes Colombia´s Biodiversity features and presents some of the aspects that account for its variety, namely climatic diversity and geographical position. Having demonstrated why Colombia is considered one of the Megadiverse countries, the presentation highlights the leadership that Colombia and Japan have had in the field of environmental protection, and how this leadership has materialized in the protocols of Cartagena and Nagoya. The speech finishes by handling part of the responsibility of environmental preservation back to the audience by listing a set of tools and recommendations for actions that can be individually undertaken.

H.E. Mr. C. P. Ricardo Allicock has been Ambassador of Jamaica since September, 2013. He is married to Suzanne Allicock. They have one son and one daughter.
